Services and regulations


Accessibility
The State Museum is fully accessible and barrier-free. By means of a lift and lifting device all exhibition rooms can be reached. A folding wheelchair is available free of charge (use at your own risk). The side entrance of the museum in the Richard-Wagner-Strasse 9 is accessible for visitors with limited mobility. Two handicapped parking spaces are available behind the museum in the Mozartstraße, on both sides of the gate.

Exhibition texts
Please note: texts of the special exhibtion are in German language only. For English speaking visitors we recommend the use of our Audio guides.

Audio Guides
Audio Guides for the special exhibition are available in German and English.
In the permanent exhibition, we offer tours in German, English and French.

Photography in the exhibition
Photography is not permitted in the special exhibition due to restrictions by our lenders.
Photography without flash or tripods for non-commercial, private purposes is permitted in the permanent exhibition with the exception of the Nebra Sky Disc exhibit.

Prams and Buggies
Please note that prams and buggies cannot be taken into the exhibition rooms. Two carrycot seats are available at the museum for free loan.
